Group Helpers

As well as Leaders the Group does require Helpers. We think of Group Helpers as adults who volunteer their time on a “one-off” or irregular basis.

The primary need for Helpers is for loading and off-loading kit. We also have a 40’ x 20’ marquee, which we will lend out for donations, this usually requires a team of Helpers to erect and remove.   If we have a well-drilled team, this commitment is usually quite quick and good fun!

The saying “many hands make light work” is very applicable.

Generally, Helpers would not need to be registered as “Occasional Helpers” or have DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks, as they would not normally interact with the Children. However, it is preferable, and The Group Scout Leader is only too willing to facilitate these qualifications.

We have a Group register of Adults willing to help. As with Volunteers, it is on the basis of offering help if and when it is convenient and available.

If you are interested in helping, in any way, at any time, in the first instance, please contact The Group Scout Leader, Nick Francis.

Thank You.
